Physical Stress Management Safety Series

Choose from a variety of seminar topics listed below. Topics can include:

Ergonomics – Repetitive Strain Injury Prevention
This program addresses various workstation issues, such as appropriate workstation set-up, to eliminate on-the-job injuries. Participants will learn what causes Repetitive Strain Injuries and what precautions can be taken to prevent their onset. Stretching exercises designed to increase the strength and flexibility of designated muscle groups will be taught, as well as natural, non-intrusive interventions, including nutritional, herbal, and hydrational remedies for relieving symptoms. Those with lower back pain, neck and shoulder pain, and even tension headaches and migraines should attend!

Preventing Back Pain
In this seminar, participants will learn about the causes of repetitive strain injury in general, and back and lower back pain in particular. The issue of developing a healthy lifestyle to support back health across the domains of work and home life will also be an overarching theme. Discover ways to ease painful symptoms through exercise, hydration, and appropriate work-station set-up. Participants will also learn appropriate lifting techniques, optimal sleeping positions, good posture tips, and other ways to protect the spine and corresponding muscle groups.

Preventing Carpal Tunnel
Carpal Tunnel Syndrome is one of the more insidious and painful repetitive strain injuries found in the workplace, characterized by extreme pain and sensitivity in the carpal tunnel region of the wrist and by inflammation of the median nerve. This lecture will address various causative factors, such as neck and shoulder pain and inappropriate workstation setup, that can be avoided. Proper workstation setup and exercises to build wrist strength and flexibility will be suggested as ways to prevent or alleviate symptoms. Safe treatment regimens that are alternatives to expensive and often ineffective surgery will be also discussed.

Understanding Migraines
Migraines are a unique form of headache effecting millions. The hallmark of this condition is intense and progressive pain often accompanied by nausea, dizziness, visual disturbances, and, for many, an inability to function. Its causes are multifaceted and complex, including stress, food allergies, hormonal imbalance, and spinal misalignment. participants of this seminar will gain a clear understanding of the etiology of this specialized form of pain and learn a variety of treatment options currently available, including safe, non-invasive, natural protocols.
